His treasure: Chapter 5: So close, but not quite.

"Again!" ACP Grant barked.

Ryan bent forward flexed his hips and flipped Corporal Montgomery over on his back on the padded mat.

"Corporal Stewart you need to bend your knees, or when you do that maneuver you'll hurt your shoulder."

ACP Grant called Sergeant Blackwood over as a sparring partner and demonstrated the defensive move in a quick, fluid motion.

"What did you observe?" ACP Grant asked.

"Sir, you dipped your right hip and bent your knees to carry the momentum over from your shoulders and arms," Corporal Stewart said.

"Good," ACP Grant said. "Now you're going to do that move again and again until you get it. Afterwards please see me in my office at 1000 hours."

"Sir, yes, sir," Corporal Stewart replied.

ACP Grant nodded. "Senior Superintendent Smith will continue the sparring exercises."

SSP Smith stepped forward. "Alright gentlemen. Let's go."

Assistant Commissioner of Police, Percival Grant, stood and silently observed the men he had chosen to do a Special Operations in a gang hot spot for ten more minutes, then walked back to his office.

Promptly at 10 AM, Corporal Stewart knocked on his door. "Come," ACP Grant ordered.

Corporal Stewart stepped into the office and saluted his superior.

ACP Grant gave him an appraising look before speaking. "Sit down, Corporal," he said. Ryan pulled the only other chair in the room towards him. He sat down.

ACP Grant was writing on a legal sized sheet of paper. "You've been here about ten months now, Corporal?"

Ryan cleared his throat. "Yes, sir," he replied.

"Adjusting well?" ACP asked.

"Yes, sir," Ryan said. His heart rate went up a fraction. ACP Grant had never asked to speak with him before. He observed as his superior continued to write something on the paper.

ACP Grant looked up at him. "Usually I don't look into my officers' background if they've been transferred from other divisions or branches, but based on your performance reports so far, I was curious."

ACP Grant held up the sheet of paper and showed him what he had written on it. It was written in cursive. Ryan squinted eyes to read it. It said,

'The greatest enemy is the one within. A man's greatest rival is himself.'

ACP Grant extended his hand for Ryan to take the paper. "You've been doing well here. SSP Smith is very impressed with how you've adjusted." There was a pause. "I have become aware of what transpired at the New Kingston Station. I hope all of that is behind you."

Ryan cleared his throat. "Yes, sir. Over and done."

"Are you currently settled, Corporal?" ACP Grant asked, his eyes watching Ryan closely.

"Settled, sir?"

"Are you in a stable relationship?"

Ryan thought this line of questioning was a bit off, but he would answer him. He swallowed. "I'm currently seeing someone, and we're establishing something solid, sir," he replied.

"Good. The type of job we do. The type of Division you're assigned to requires a clear and settled mind. A small mistake would mean your life." ACP Grant said, leaning back in his chair.

He stared at Ryan, letting the weight of what he said sit for a little, then said, "This mission you and the ten other men will be going on requires a sharp and clear mind that is not distracted. Your colleagues will be depending on your lucidity, as much as you will be depending on theirs." A beat. "Do you understand?"

Ryan nodded. "Yes, sir. I understand." His heart was doing a full on gallop in his chest.

ACP Grant nodded. "Good. That is all."

ACP Grant stood up and saluted him. Corporal Stewart stood at attention and saluted his superior.

"Dismissed, Corporal."

"Thank you, sir."

Ryan stepped out of the office and exhaled. He looked at the paper in his hand. He read the words again, then folded the paper and tucked it in his pants' pocket. He took a breath.

He wondered what Sudie was doing at that moment. He wished he could hear her voice. He walked back to his assigned desk and picked up the Force Orders. Sitting down--his feet crossed at the ankles, he read carefully, using a pencil to underline and scribble notes. He made note of queries he wanted clarified at the next general meeting.

The thought of her crept into his mind again and he smiled. He was looking forward to the weekend. He chuckled softly to himself, took a quick breath to focus his mind and continued to read.

Sudanie had already helped to issue eight traffic tickets that morning and it wasn't close to her lunch break yet. Sergeant Chevon Crawford was the officer in charge. Constables Campbell and Morrant were also on traffic duty. Sudie sighed. She couldn't stop thinking about Ryan. She wanted to call him. Something inside her longed to hear his voice. She sent him a text, "Hey, is this a good time to call you?"

The response was immediate. "Yes, please. I'm heading to the break room."

Sudie called him. He answered after the second ring. "Hey, God answered my prayers," Ryan said.

Sudanie stepped a small distance away from her colleagues and smiled. "Why do you say that?"

"I was thinking about you and saying how I wish I could hear your voice and twenty minutes later you're calling me." A comfortable silence settled between them. Then, "Baby, I miss you. I wish I could hold you," he said.

Sudanie giggled softly. "Same here," she replied. She looked back to see Dana ogling her. She winked at her friend and turned around.

"Will you allow me to hold you this weekend? I promise to behave," Ryan said.

Sudanie gave a little laugh. "I'll think about it."

Ryan made a mock sound of exasperation and she laughed. "Okay, yes, I will let you hold me."

"Kisses?"

"That might be dangerous," she answered, her heart rate spiking.

"I want to live dangerously with you," he said, softening his tone.

"What are you saying?" Sudie's heart felt like a drum in her rib cage.

"I want to be with you. I don't want to hold back any longer," he told her.

"We need to wait," she said.

"I know," he replied. He released a long breath. "Anything you want. I'll honor whatever you want."

"You really want me?"

Ryan chuckled softly. He looked around the room. There was only one other officer. He lowered his voice.

"Yes, Sudie. I want you, just you. What happened yesterday made me realize I've been a fool." He lowered his voice.

"I want to be chosen Ryan, not as a last resort, and not a second choice."

Her words struck his heart. She heard what Mark said. He closed his eyes and released a low groan.

"I'll do whatever you want to prove how much I want you," he said slowly. He rubbed his temples.

"I want you to love me more than you've ever loved any other woman," she said, her mood somber now. "I want you to wait for me. I don't want you to share your love with someone else."

Ryan allowed her words to soak into him. "I can do that," he said.

"Think about it before you give me an answer, Rhy. I'll give you until this weekend."

"Okay," he said, noting her shift in mood. He opened his eyes. His colleague had quietly stepped out of the room, and he wasn't aware. He leaned on the chair.

"Okay," she said.

"Pick you up later," he promised.

"Okay, Rhy," Sudie said. She hung up.

Ryan stared at the phone. 'I'm not letting you go, Sue.'

By 1:00 p.m. they were driving back to the station when Constable Campbell felt her work phone's vibration on her right thigh. She slid down in the seat to retrieve the phone from her pocket and sat upright.

"Hello?" she answered.

"Constable Campbell?"

"Yes, this is she."

"This is Kesher Jones from the forensics lab. It's been almost a year, but we may have a break through with the Douglas case."

Dana frowned. "Douglas?" It was on the edge of her memory, but she couldn't quite place it. Sudanie watched her friend, curious about the conversation she was having.

"The Douglas family. The incident that happened on Dr Dixon-Marx's road," Kesher said.

Dana bent forward in the seat. The pieces were connecting for her. "Okay, yes" Dana answered. "New evidence came in?"

"Yes. Fisher men on the Pedro Cays found two bodies dug up by dogs. They were in a decomposed state, but we may be able to take credible skin samples. We found a wallet with Mr Brent Douglas's driver's license as well,  and other personal items. There was also a smaller body. We assume it's the younger daughter."

Dana let out air from her lips as if she'd been punched in the gut. She looked at her left hand. "How soon will you know for certain?"

"We have cases that have been marked for priority, but Dr Bromfield has asked us to work on this one using any free time we have."

"Okay," Dana said. "Please tell Dr Bromfield thank you. And thank you as well."

"It's no problem. Anyone who hurts a child deserves to be behind bars or worse."

Dana grimaced. She couldn't agree more. "Okay, you 'll let me know?"

"Yeah, I'll call you personally two days from now to share our progress. Also, the family has been notified."

"You've heard from the wife and older daughter?" Dana was surprised. She'd been trying to find them for months.

"Apparently, she changed her number, but left it with a police friend of hers. She hadn't heard from her daughter, but she figured it was her husband being petty. They were in a custody battle for the younger child."

"Oh," Dana said, feeling melancholy about that situation. "Okay, thank you, Mr Jo--"

"Call me Kesher. Mr Jones is my father." he said jokingly.

"Okay, thank you, Kesher," Dana said smiling.

"You're welcome."

She waited until Kesher ended the call before she put her phone away.

"Who was that?" Sudanie asked, looking at her.

"Kesher Jones from the forensics lab." Dana paused. "He ... uh, he said they found, they may have found the bodies of the Douglas family members. The man and the younger daughter."

"Oh?"

Mhm, on the Pedro Cays, dogs dug up the bodies. They were decomposed, but he said they may be able to take good enough skin samples to test them."

Sergeant Chevon Crawford who was driving them back to their station caught on to the conversation and was listening keenly.

Constable Morrant was scrolling through his phone. He looked up at the words Pedro Cays. He stopped scrolling. "My dad was a fisherman," he said, not particularly to anyone.

Constable Campbell nodded. "Okay," she said. She looked at Sudanie, who smiled and shook her head.

He went back to his phone.

"So what else did Kesher say?" Sudanie asked.

"They'll be putting in the hours on this one even though it's not officially labeled as top priority."

"It should be," Sudanie said. "That evening changed a lot of things."

Dana nodded. "The beginning of a lot of things," she added. If Melissa hadn't linked up with Shane things wouldn't have accelerated so she could have had her chance with him now. She bit the corner of her bottom lip. Fate or life ... or whatever, was a mystery. She looked out the car window.

Chevon cleared his throat. "Constable Campbell, there's been something I've been meaning to ask you," he began. Dana looked towards the front seat. She caught his gaze through the overhead rearview mirror.

"Okay, sir. I am all ears," Dana answered.

Chevon cleared his throat. "You have permission to speak freely, Constable. I want your unfiltered response within respect," he added.

"Noted, sir," Dana said.

Sudanie's eyebrows furrowed. 'What is this about?' she wondered.

"I'll be having a round robin slash birthday this Saturday. I would really like you and your fiance, Shane, to support the event."

Dana smiled. "She liked Chevon. He had always been respectful to her. "Not a problem. I think he and I could swing by briefly. We may have plans after," Dana said, her lips curving into a satisfied smile.

Sudanie knew what that look was about. She rolled her eyes and sniggered quietly. Morrant was now playing an online game on his phone.

"That's fine. Matter of fact, I completely understand, you guys being newly engaged and so on," He smiled at her through the rearview mirror. "The thing is, your fiance told the person who is helping me with the plan for the party that he wouldn't be able to make it."

"Oh?" Dana tilted her head slightly to the right. "He did. Who asked?"

"Nichayla," Chevon said.

"Okay," Dana said, and the temperature in the car cabin dropped by several degrees. Even Morrant noticed that something was wrong. He looked up briefly. But not seeing anything amiss he shrugged off the feeling and continued what he was doing.

"I've heard around that you and Nichayla have some past misunderstanding," Chevon said.

"It was not a misunderstanding," Dana said quietly.

"I would like to know what happened. I'll give an objective ear."

Dana straightened her shoulders. She took a deep breath and exhaled. "Okay. I'll give you the shortened version."

Ryan came for Sudie promptly at 7:30. When she slid into the vehicle she leaned over and kissed his cheek. He smiled at her. "What was that for?" he asked.

"Not making me wait," she answered. She brushed her thumb on his cheek. "And for being handsome."

With an eyebrow raised, he studied her. "You're something else," he said with a smirk on his lips

"Is that a good thing?" She put on her seat belt.

He started the car and glanced at her. "A very good thing."

He put his hand on her thigh and squeezed gently. She looked at his hand but made no move to rebuff him.

Ryan gave a side glance. "I've been fantasizing about these thighs," he said softly.

Sudanie chortled and brushed his hand off. "Keep dreaming," she quipped.

"Oh, I will. No doubt about that," he said, focusing his gaze on the road.

He dropped her off at her gate. He was about to leave when she said, "You don't have to go just yet."

He looked at her with an unreadable expression. "You sure?" he asked.

She nodded. "I'm sure," she answered. She took his hand and he shut off the engine.

"Okay," he said, a faint smile on his lips. When he exited the vehicle, she went for his hand and pulled him towards the house.

He drew her to his side and wrapped his hand around her waist. She opened the door and he walked in with her. The door was barely closed before he pulled her to him, opened his mouth, and kissed her--passionately, hungrily like he hadn't tasted her mouth for days. In fact he hadn't.

Sudie didn't push him away. She leaned into him and groaned when she felt his hands on her hips. His mouth found her neck and suckled on the sensitive skin. Sudanie gasped and went limp on him. He rubbed her back and eased her gently off him.

"Wait ... Wait!" he said breathlessly. He pulled the buckle of his service belt with his gun. Loosened the belt from his waist and placed it by the front door. Sudie fumbled with hers. Her fingers were shaking too much. He unbuckled the belt for her and laid it beside his.

He cupped her face and placed light, feathery kisses on her lips, down to her jawline.

"Hmm, Sudie your skin is so soft and smells so divine." In one quick swoop of his arms under knees and shoulders, he lifted her and brought her to the couch. He gently placed her on the comfy furniture then laid on top of her.

"Baby, I know it's wrong, but I can't wait any longer. Let me have you, please, Sudie."

Sudanie looked up at him--at the hunger, the need that mirrored her own emotions and made a decision.

"I don't want to be hurt, Rhy."

Hovering over her, he saw the fear and uncertainty in her eyes. Ryan sat on the couch and pulled her into his arms. He circled his arms around her as she leaned into him.

"What we have is special," he said. He kissed her hair. "I was blind in a sense, playing it safe, but I promise you. I promise you, Sue, I'm wide awake this time. You're the only woman I want." He moved his hand up to cup her breasts. She was wearing a bra. He wished he could take it off.

"If we make love I'll be yours completely. I don't want anyone else." He kissed her neck and slipped his hands inside the waist of her pants and pulled her shirt up. Slowly he unbuttoned it. He pulled it off her shoulders. She didn't resist him. He placed it on the arm of the couch.

"Sue, you are not stopping me. You want this too." She was wearing a thin cotton blouse. Quickly, he unbuttoned his work shirt, to reveal a grey coloured marina. He took both hers and his shirt, and placed them on the umbrella rack by the door.

She turned around and looked at him. He came to her. "Take off the shirt, Sue," he said, his voice warm and smooth like velvet.

"Rhy, I want to, but I'm scared ..."

He cupped her face. "I won't leave you, Sue. I promise. You have me."

He could see her body trembling. She wanted it badly as much as he did. He wanted to satisfy her.

Sudie stared into his eyes and saw the sincerity in them. But she remembered what she overheard in that conversation with him and Mark. Can I trust him?

"How can I trust you, Rhy?"

She saw the hurt in his eyes and regretted what she said. He bent his head, his eyes staring at the cushions. He took a deep breath and eased back from her.

He paused then said, "I'm sorry. It's too soon for you after yesterday, and we shouldn't be doing this in the first place. I have no right to ask you to do this." He straightened up and stood to his feet. "And maybe this weekend isn't a good idea."

"Rhy ..."

"It's okay, Sue. I think I may have lost you. I don't even know if I deserve another chance with you." He looked at her then stared at the floor.

"Tell you what, let's cancel our weekend plans, okay? It's not a good idea. You don't trust me." He went to the front door to put on his shirt.

'Are you going to allow him to leave like this?' her conscience asked.

'What should I do?'

'You know what to do?'

She stood up and removed her blouse. "Rhy," she called to him. He turned around and saw that she had taken off her blouse. He froze. Every muscle was heightened by what he saw. Beautiful, brown twin peaks teased him in a lace covered, sweetheart cup bra. He took a step towards her.

He swallowed. She's gorgeous. His Adam's apple bobbed reflexively. "Sue, are you sure?"

He could see the vulnerability in her eyes. He moved towards her and hugged her to him. He sat on the couch and pulled her onto his lap to straddle him. He looked at her cleavage. He looked up at her face.

"Sue, you're beautiful."

He reached his hand out and placed it on her left breast. Not to tease her, but because he wanted to feel her heart beating. He found the pulse and closed his eyes. He groped for her hand, found it, and placed it on his chest, right over his heart.

"Do you feel that?" he asked, eyes still closed.

"Yes, I do," she replied, her voice shaky

"Close your eyes, Sue."

"Ryan, I--"

"Please, just do it, for me," he said softly.

She took a deep breath then released it. She closed her eyes.

"Eyes closed?"

"Yes."

"Feel my heart beat, Sue. Feel it beating."

"I don't--"

"Just relax and trust me. Please."

She took another ragged breath. "Okay," she said resignedly.

"Listen to me breathing and feel my heart beating."

She listened and felt, but wasn't sure what it was supposed to mean.

"The first time we were supposed to go on a date I was very nervous. My mind was spinning. After getting to know more about you. I found myself thinking about you constantly. So when I asked you out on an official date, I was nervous. I wanted everything to go right. And you know what happened."

A smile materialized on her face. "Your car broke down, your iron malfunctioned and burned the shirt you were going to wear," she said, humour in her voice. She relaxed. Ryan felt the shift in her mood and opened his eyes.

"I took a taxi to come see you. I apologized and told you I would make it up to you. Do you remember what you said?"

"I asked what you planned on us doing for our date. You told me a picnic. So I said we can have the picnic another time, but I'll cook for us now."

He reached up with his left hand and cupped her face. She opened her eyes.

"Baby, maybe I don't deserve you," he said, smiling ruefully, "I don't deserve you, but one thing I know, I want to be worthy of your trust. I won't hold back from you any longer."

She saw the sincerity in his eyes and melted. She leaned towards him. He lifted his head and kissed her brow. He held her and stroked her back while her head rested on his shoulder. Her skin was as smooth as refined silk. He moved his right hand from her breast and placed it at her hip.

"Let me taste just a little of your sweetness," he said.

"What do you mean?" she asked. She loved the way his hand felt on her skin.

"I want to kiss your breasts," Ryan said. He brushed a hand on her face.

"How far do you want to go?" Her heart was pounding.

"To be honest, I want to suck on your nips, but I know that's not a good idea. If you let me, I'll just kiss your cleavage. Just the soft, fluffy part."

She looked into his eyes and nodded. "Okay," she said.

"Does that mean you forgive me?" he asked, smiling.

She nodded. "Yes, I forgive you. But Rhy, please ..."

"I know. I'm sorry. It won't happen again. It's all about you," he reassured her.

He gently stroked her back soothing her. "May I kiss your breasts?"

She nodded. "Yes," she said softly.

He put her away from his chest and stared at them. 'Easily D cups,' he mused. 'So full. So round. So beautiful.'

His hands came up to caress her breasts through the bra. He massaged them slowly, and watched as her head arched back and she closed her eyes. He pulled her close and kissed her lips as he caressed them gently.

A soft moan came from her lips. He moved his mouth down to her neck, and kissed slowly, pulling on the skin. A shock wave of pleasure flowed through her. Her body shivered.

"Rhy," she whispered.

"Yes, baby, I'm here. I'll never let go."

He moved his lips to her shoulders. He loved on them then kissed her collar bone. She moaned. He lifted her and placed her on the couch. He stooped down and unlaced her boots, and pulled off her socks.

Sudie was burning up. She didn't want to stop him. He removed his shoes quickly and came over her. His right arm bracing on the back of the couch. He touched her face.

"Sue, do you trust me?"

She nodded. Her mind was in a daze, her body feeling feverish. She took shallow breaths to steady herself.

"Do you trust me, baby?"

She nodded again.

"Say it, baby," he said, his eyes smoldering with desire.

"Yes, Rhy, I trust you," she said airily.

Hungrily, he captured her lips, kissing her with restrained enthusiasm. His hands found the back of her bra and unhooked it. He buried his face between her soft, supple breasts and groaned. Sudie arched up as she felt him kissing the sensitive flesh.

"Ohh! Rhy!"

"Yes, sweet baby," he murmured. "I wish I could take you right here, right now." He gently kissed the swell of her breasts, then teased her by rubbing his trimmed beard on the skin.

The contact tickled, but also produced a tingling sensation that settled in her loins. She shivered and groaned deeply. He kissed her breasts, his lips moving down until they were just on the cusp of her areolas. He nudged further until his lips brushed on her nipples.

Sudie arched up and gripped his shoulders. "Rhy!"

He looked at her. Her pupils were dilated, her breathing shallow. She looked so tempting. He lifted her in his arms and carried her to the bedroom. He laid her down and locked the door. He took slow steps towards her, watching as her body moved involuntarily because of the desire taking her over.

"I want to go all the way with you, Sue," he said quietly. "I want to make love to you."

He sat on the bed, reached out and touched her face. "If I make love to you, I want you to know something: You will be the only woman on my mind, no one else. Only you. And when I'm inside you, I'll be thinking of how to make you feel good with me."

She looked into his eyes and nodded. "Okay," she said, biting her bottom lip.

"I love you," he said. A seductive smile formed on his lips.

Her heart fluttered with something tender and whimsical. "I love you too," she replied.

Ryan reached out and unbuttoned her pants. He drew down the zipper and pulled them off to expose soft, brown skin. He placed the pants on the only chair in her room.

His eyes feasted on her round, toned hips and thighs, and the sexy, black panties she was wearing. Slowly, he bent his head and kissed her flat belly. He got a whiff of something warm and earthy, and his eyes drifted down to her crotch.

He moved his lips lower. The scent grew stronger. He kissed her lower abdomen and inhaled. The smell of peaches, cocoa butter, and her distinct feminine scent greeted him. He closed his eyes.

"Babe, you smell so good. I wish you would let me explore down there." He laid his head on her belly.

Sudie lay on the bed with her hands at her sides. She wasn't sure if she should put her hands on his head or ... He kissed the sensitive area where her hips curved into her upper thighs, and her mind went blank.

She closed her eyes. Her body was shaking, but this time she wasn't afraid. Something else was happening inside her--a rising thirst she wanted Ryan to quench for her.

His fingers brushed on her crotch, moving up and down.

"Ohh!" Sudie's hips shifted upwards at his touch. He cupped her. She squeezed her thighs together while biting her lips.

"Hmm, sweet, sweet baby. I'll be gentle." Ryan groaned. He lifted his torso and stared at her from head to toe. His other hand found her right hip and squeezed. "You're so sweet. If you give your virginity to me I will cherish it."

She opened her eyes. His hands on me feels so good, especially there. She squeezed her thighs together and licked her lips. Ryan blew her a kiss. She closed her eyes.

She loved him. She wanted to give herself to him. She just didn't want to regret him being her first. She needed to know that he would let go of the past from now on.

"Rhy, if we--"

The loud, jarring sound of a phone's battery vibrating cut through the moment.

Her eyes flew open. 'Who was that?' she thought, feeling annoyed. The sound was coming from her pants.

Ryan didn't want her to answer. "Let it ring," he said. He kissed her neck and placed his arms on either side of her waist, trapping her between them. His gaze softened as he looked at her.

"If we do this, Rhy, I need to know it means something to you."

Bending forward, he kissed her brow. "Sue, you remember the Bible verse which says, 'two become one'? Remember that one?"

She nodded. "Yeah, I remember."

"That's what I want with you. I don't care about the women before you. They're in my past and forgotten. I reject them." He cupped her face and looked straight into her eyes. "All of them." She knew he was talking about Lissa. The lump lodged in her chest loosened. She released a quiet breath.

"From this day forward I vow to be yours and yours only, if you'll have me," he said.

She put her hand on his chest and felt the rapid beating of his heart. "Yes, I will," she said, her eyes showing affection.

"Kiss me," he said. She touched his face. He bent his head and planted soft kisses on her lips. He deepened the kiss and felt her body shiver.

Sudie opened her mouth wider. She lifted herself and plunged her tongue in his mouth. He groaned and reciprocated. His tongue slipped easily into her mouth.

"Hmm ..." 'She tastes so good,' he thought.

Both their tongues danced together, then she switched gears and started nibbling on his lips. He couldn't seem to get as much as he wanted of her. His hands came up to hold her head in place as he kissed her. He turned his head and began pulling on her lips. His tongue flicked playfully over them, and she moaned. Her hand found a muscular forearm and held on.

He broke away from the kiss and stared at her. "You're making me hot." His breathing was laboured--rushed.

He brushed his hand over an arm. "Are you sure? I want to go all the way, but I need to know you're sure."

She grabbed him and kissed him. Ryan laid her down and kissed her neck. He trailed kisses to the curve of her left shoulder then took in a sharp breath.

"Okay," he said softly. He nodded as he looked at her. "I'll be gentle." She nodded. Her own breathing had accelerated. He kissed her tenderly: pulling on her lips slowly, suckling gently.

He was really hard for her. His hands moved down to caress her breasts. He pulled off the bra and cupped them possessively.

"Mine," he whispered.

Sudie arched up and released a ragged breath. While kneading her breasts he listened to her moans.

"Ohh Rhy! Yes! Baby... hmmm!"

"Sue, you're mine. I won't let you go," he said, his desire shifting into something more primal. A feeling of jealous ownership rose up in his chest.

He bent his head to capture a taut, sensitive nipple in his mouth.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

They heard the loud banging on the bedroom door. They froze and looked at the door, then at each other. Ryan could see the confusion and fear in Sudanie's eyes.

"You expecting someone?" he asked.

She shook her head, staring at the door. "No," she said, feeling thoroughly confused.

They saw the door handle turn. The person was trying to open the door.

Her phone began to vibrate again. The incessant buzzing sound was interrupting the warm glow between them.

'Whoever it is banging on the bedroom door better have a good reason,' she thought. Only two people had a key to her front door: her sister, Giselle, and Dana, but anything could happen.

Sudie scrambled to sit up and grabbed her bra. She put it on faster than she did that morning. She stepped off the bed and reached for her pants to put them on. Rhy's face formed into a dark scowl.

'Who the hell is that?' he wondered. He stood up. He was ready to protect her if that was necessary.
