His Treasure: Chapter 8: The waiting game.
I'm yours
Her heart skipped a beat. Her fingers brushed on his beard. She looked into his eyes, and saw a certainty in his gaze that made her shiver. "You're serious?" she asked.
He took her hand and pressed it on his chest. She felt his rapid heart beat. He brought her hand down past his belly to his crotch. He brushed it against him and sighed.
She opened her hand and cupped him. Even through his trousers she could tell he was well endowed. Her eyes widened as she circled her hand around his girth. 'He's big!' she mused.
Ryan closed his eyes and his head went back as his body shivered a little. "Hmm, baby," he groaned softly.
Watching the way he responded to her she wanted to do more. She tightened her grip on him and moved her hand back and forth, taking her time. Ryan bit his bottom lip.
"You like this?" she asked.
He grunted and smiled ruefully. "Like is not the word I would use to describe what I'm feeling," he said. He covered her hand with his, stopping her. He opened his eyes and what she saw made her breath hitch.
"I refuse to live like this any longer," he whispered, his voice raspy. "Sudie, I need you. I want you. I can't live without you and I don't want to try. Make me your sex slave if you wish, I don't care. Just tell me you'll give me the privilege of putting a wedding ring on your finger."
Seeing the fire smoldering in his eyes, her body melted against his. He circled his arms around her waist. "Yes, Rhy, I would love to be your wife," she said. His hold around her tightened. He kissed her brow.
He kissed her hair. "From now on I will cherish you with all of me."
She moved back and he loosened his embrace, but did not let her go. "So I'm a fiance?" she asked smiling.
Ryan chuckled softly and nodded. "Yes, but I'll make it official this weekend, I promise."
Ryan watched as her face relaxed and her beautiful, dark eyes softened. "Are we still spending time together this weekend?" she asked.
He touched her face and bent his head. He wanted to show her he was very serious. He captured her lips and kissed her slowly. His lips brushed gently on hers. She leaned forward seeking more from him. He did not disappoint her.
He opened his mouth--pulling more assertively on her lips. His tongue slipped into her mouth and he heard her groan. His hands trailed down her sides and rested on her curvy derriere.
He turned on his back and lifted her so that she was on top of him. He pulled her up on his belly and she fixed her legs so she could straddle him properly. He rubbed his hands on her smooth thighs. Her skin felt wonderful to touch.
"I know you said you've never, you know, but," he said, rubbing on her thighs, "if there is a sexual position you wanted to explore: Any position you really want to try, which one would it be?"
Sudanie looked into his eyes. The way he was looking at her made heat coil tight inside her. His touch wasn't helping. She cleared her throat. "I ..."
He reached up and touched her right cheek. "You don't have to be shy with me, Sue. I'm yours now."
"But we're--"
He put his finger on her lips and her body shivered because of this intimate gesture. "I know we're not married yet, and not officially engaged, but I'm yours. Every part of me. Every single inch of me."
His eyes darkened as he said those words. He moved under her. His hips undulated back and forth in a way that made her loins clench.
"All of me is yours, baby," he said softly, his voice a little breathy.
Sudie closed her eyes as the rhythm of his thrusts under her made her body yearn for him. She began moving with him. He gripped her thighs and lifted his hips--thrusting upwards.
Feeling his hardness bouncing against her throbbing mound made Sudie moan softly. "Rhy, hmm," she said. She bent forward, pushed her butt back, while grinding on him.
"Hmm, baby," she moaned.
He moved faster, and she arched her body. She was lost in the sensations she was feeling. Ryan sat up and turned her over so he was on top of her.
He buried his head in her neck, suckling it gently. He was still humping on her. He slowed down and began whining in a sensual way.
"Ohh, Rhy! Ahh!" Sudanie opened her legs wide for him.
"Hmm... Sue," he groaned.
She heard the zipper of his pants being pulled and she opened her eyes. He was looking at her, his eyes burning with desire. She reached her hand down and touched him.
"Ahh! Hmm!" he grunted.
He was warm, hard and thick. And something she had never felt before. She licked her lips. "You feel so good," she muttered. He bent his head and kissed her shoulders.
"I want you, Sue. I need you," he said, his voice raspy.
"I want you too," she said, her breath coming in short spurts. She massaged him and watched as his eyes looked like molten iron.
"What position do you think you'll want to try first?" he asked, his voice husky. He took her hand from his member and kissed the palm.
She touched his face. "You on top of me. Your body feels so good the way you were whining on me. I want to feel you pressing me into the bed."
A smile formed slowly on his lips. "I'll make sure you enjoy it," he said.
She was curious. "What position do you like?" she asked.
He chuckled softly. "From behind, but I think with you, I'll love any position we end up in."
He brushed his thumb along her right cheek bone. "I love you, baby."
"I love you," she breathed.
His hands pulled at her night gown. He found the waist of the matching panties she wore and pulled it off.
Sudanie's breathing accelerated. 'Are we going to do this? For real?' she wondered.
He pulled her under him and moved up. His hands caressed her womanhood very gently. Her head went back, her mouth open. 'Oh my!' she thought.
"Sweet baby, you're already wet. You're so wet for me," he said, his voice husky.
Her folds were very moist. He brought his fingers up to his face and smelled her. The scent made him bite his lip. Sudanie watched him, mesmerized by his reaction to her.
"You smell really good. I'm tempted to taste you," he told her. "Matter of fact, I will."
He parted his lips and put his fingers in his mouth. He sucked on them while closing his eyes. His tongue did several passes over his fingers.
Sudanie's mouth went dry watching him. She had never thought of indulging in oral sex before, but now she really wanted to experience it.
"I need to see something," he said. His hand went down to tease her again. Sudanie groaned from feeling the gentle contact of his fingers. She was weak to his touch. His middle finger deliberately circled her nub, and she gasped--her lower body arching upwards.
He skimmed her folds and brought his fingers back to his lips. He grunted. "Just as I thought," he said. "The sweetest kitty I've ever tasted." He opened his eyes.
A part of him wanted to go further, but something was holding him back. All it would take was one finger to penetrate her, to tease her. He could break her hymen now so that later having sex with her would be easier. He stared at her: her body arching up, her lips parted, and her eyes dark with desire. She was so beautiful.
He wanted to look at her kitty. If he bent his head he would see it. He bet she was very beautiful down there. But something made him stop.
His heart was racing. He was hard for her. But there was a feeling of foreboding surfacing in his mind; tightening and knotting in his chest.
He lay down and pulled her on top of him. He focused his gaze on her face. Circling his arms around her, he squeezed. She groaned his name. He stroked her back. "Stretch out your legs, baby," he said softly. With a sigh, she did what he instructed.
"You taste really good, Sue. You're like top shelf wine--sweet and intoxicating. I'm going to enjoy tasting you when the time comes. And don't tell me you don't want me to. I'll probably go crazy if you don't let me have you like that."
Sudie didn't know what to say to that. She just nodded. "Okay," she said airily. He squeezed her to him and sighed.
She felt his mood shift and lifted herself on his chest to look at his face. She saw the apology in his gaze before he spoke it. He brushed his fingers through her hair.
"I'm sorry," he said quietly. "I don't think we should go further."
She lay on his chest and closed her eyes. Her body was still shaking with awakened desire, but she swallowed, and took deep breaths until her heart rate slowed down.
"Ease up a little, babes," he said, his voice smooth like velvet. Sudie loved the way he spoke to her. She supported her weight on her arms.
Sudie saw his right hand moving down to his ... She lifted her head and looked at the wall before them. Her cheeks flushed a deeper hue to her caramel brown skin.
Ryan noticed her body language and quickly tucked his member inside his underwear and trousers. He pulled her down on him. "Come here," he said.
Her lips twitched upwards at his possessive nature. It felt good to be wanted like this. She snuggled further into his chest and relaxed.
He continued to stroke her back gently. "I'm sorry, Sue. Forgive me. I don't want to regret experiencing you for the first time. You deserve more than this," he told her. "I don't want you to have any regrets either."
"What do we do now?" she asked.
He bent forward and kissed her hair. He lay back. "Now, I introduce you to my family. I meet yours, and we plan the rest of our lives together."
Sudanie's lips curved into a smile. "I'd like that," she said softly.
"Me too," he replied. "Baby, I want to wait for you. Really wait for you. Not what we're doing." His hands brushed on her buttocks. He squeezed them a little. Sudanie made a soft, guttural sound, but didn't move.
'They feel so good,' he mused. Her round buttocks made it hard for him to think straight, but he would do his best. Knowing that she wasn't wearing any panties underneath the thin, silk fabric of her nightie was a formidable test of his self control.
He longed to caress her bare bottom. He wanted to feel all that firm, softness pushed back on his thighs while making love to her. The thought of her body trembling in ecstasy, while he held her close invaded his mind.
He swore under his breath.
"You okay?" Sudanie asked as she shifted on top of him. She lifted her head to look at his face.
"You are so damn sexy," he muttered. "I want to lift your nightie up and rub my hands over your bottom. Maybe give it a slap."
She giggled. "Yeah, you aren't good at waiting," she answered.
He chuckled softly. "I'm not when it comes to you, but I'm going to try harder from now on.
"You're more important to me than instant pleasure. I'm going to discipline myself for both our sakes." He touched her face and stared into her eyes. "I love you, sweet girl," he said.
"I love you too," she said.
Sudanie smiled at him cheekily. "If you're serious we'd have to skip the weekend plans. You might be tempted to ravish me," she said. Ryan groaned in complaint and she laughed.
"We'll have plenty of weekends after you marry me," she said.
He kissed her nose. "I'm counting on it," he answered gruffly. Sudie shivered from the passion in his voice.
"I have an idea," he said. "Let's go out instead. That's safer."
She looked at him with eyebrows raised, a smile on her lips. "Good idea," she said, and continued to lay on top of him.
One Month Later
"Coffee for the good doctor."
Melissa looked up from the stack of reports in front of her. She smiled at the Good Samaritan who brought her the liquid lifeline. "Thanks Simpson, I appreciate you."
Inspector Simpson grinned in response. He sat on the chair before her desk. "How is the transition back treating you?" he asked.
Melissa took a breath and looked at him. She leaned back in her chair. "Not bad actually. Everybody has been quite accommodating."
She knew that Ryan was no longer at this branch, and Sudie had also mentioned that he was on loan to a Special Operations Task Force. She hoped he was alright. She however had no idea where Shane was now.
She saw him the first day back. She wanted to say hi; to congratulate him properly for taking the big step of marriage, but since that morning a month ago, she hadn't seen him again.
"Leon?"
"Hmm?"
"Can you tell me something?"
Simpson leaned forward. "Sure, if I know the answer to what you're asking, I'll tell you."
"Has something happened to Shane? Sergeant Crosby? Since I've been back I have only seen him once. Is... Is he okay?" Melissa asked, biting her bottom lip. She clasped her hands and placed them in her lap.
Simpson watched her carefully. He wondered if she was still carrying a hot torch for his colleague. He cleared his throat.
"Well... Actually, he's working on a case related to Mr Z, and of course he has to do his investigations and so on. You know how it is."
He crossed his legs at his ankles. "How is married life treating you?"
Melissa smiled lopsidedly at him. His message was clear. "We're doing good. He should be back this weekend. He's finishing up some studies, then he'll be home," she answered.
"Good," Simpson said.
"Leon?"
"Yes, Mel?"
"Is he avoiding me?"
"Who?"
"Shane."
Another cleared throat. Simpson pulled at the collar of his shirt. "I can't say anything about that," he said.
"Look, Mel, what you guys had is water under the bridge. You're married now. He's planning a wedding. I think if he feels avoiding, maybe keeping his distance from you is a good thing, you should respect him for that." He stood up.
"I have to get going," he said.
"How much for the coffee? I'll reimburse you," Melissa said looking up at him.
Simpson shook his head. "No need," he said, "that's just a thank you for getting Moy Moy to cooperate with us. I and my colleagues appreciate you coming back to help." He smiled at her. He walked to the door.
"Take care of yourself, Dr Marx. Don't overthink anything." He opened the door and stepped out.
Melissa sighed, leaned back in her chair and closed her eyes. All she wanted was to apologize for what she said about him killing Mr Z's sister. Since being back Sudanie explained everything. All she wanted to do was say sorry.
She looked at her detailed documentation of Moy Moy's case. The defence for the uncle claimed her young client was mentally unstable and could not be relied upon to give credible testimony.
Melissa promised to give a short testimony as to the lucidity of her client. If she was able to convince the judge, a trial would commence with Amoya also testifying on her own behalf. She took a deep breath and walked to the window. She looked outside at the well kept lawns of the police station.
"Shane, I just wanna say I'm sorry. I don't want to cause any trouble."
"You okay?"
She turned around to see Sudanie entering the room. She sat at the desk. Sudanie closed the door behind her and came forward.
"You good?" she asked.
Melissa nodded. "Hmm, yeah."
"Sure?"
"Yep," Melissa said, stacking the reports in a neat pile. She smiled at her friend. "What can I do for you?"
"I need to ask you something," Sudanie said.
Melissa observed that her friend looked nervous. "Okay," she said, now very curious.
"It's about Ryan," Sudanie said, biting her bottom lip. She sat in the chair across from her friend.
Melissa's smile faltered a little. She tried to keep it stable. "Ask."
"Okay," Sudanie said, taking a deep breath. "Well, we've... we haven't done anything yet. The thing is I'm a virgin and, well ..."
Melissa reached across the table for her friend's hand. Sudanie gave it to her.
"Babe, me and Ryan are done. I'm listening as just your friend who wants the best for you. Okay?"
Sudanie nodded. "Okay," she said, her voice a tiny squeak. She cleared her throat.
"I've never had sex before--"
"Is he pressuring you?" Melissa asked. She was surprised to hear that, but kept her face neutral.
Sudanie shook her head. "No. It's just that he asked about oral sex, and I have never done it, or had it done to me. I'm thinking about it. I love him."
Melissa's eyebrows lifted.
"I guess I wanna know if you've ever done it to anyone, and I guess advice on it?"
Melissa decided to proceed carefully. "Do you want to experience oral sex?" she asked.
Sudanie squinted her eyes. "I-I do, but I'm afraid I won't like it."
Melissa chuckled softly. "Oh, hunny, there's no chance of that happening with a caring, attentive partner." She leaned forward in her chair.
"Has Ryan offered to do it to you?" She decided to venture deeper.
Sudanie nodded slowly.
Melissa noticed her body language. "Has he done it to you already?"
Sudanie shook her head indicating no. "But he kind of, sort of ..."
Melissa squeezed her friend's hand. "What?"
"He put his fingers on me and brought it to his lips, and he ..." Sudanie's voice trailed off.
"He touched you down there and tasted you after?" Melissa tried to compose herself.
Sudanie nodded.
"Babe, he obviously finds you very attractive. What was his reaction? What did he say?"
Sudanie was sweating a little now. " He said ... He said he liked it."
Melissa stood up and grabbed her bag. Sudanie looked up at her friend feeling flustered and confused. "What? What are you doing?"
"I'm taking us both to lunch," Melissa said. "I don't want no prying ears to hear the things we'll be discussing. Come grab your bag. Lunch is on me."
Sudanie stood up. "You're not mad?"
Melissa looked her in the eyes then hugged her. "How many times do I have to tell you, that's the past. Sudz, you're good. A matter of fact, if you and Ryan want to get freaky, I will buy you the lube to get it done if I have to."
Sudanie's eyes widened.
"I'm just kidding. I'm kidding. But for real, I'm glad he's enjoying you. Hun, enjoy him." Melissa pulled Sudanie to the door. "Come, let's get lunch."
Sudanie nodded. A sense of relief washed over her. She was feeling guilty ever since Lissa got back and was just down the hall from her. She was feeling better now.
"And I'm going to give you some help with the oral sex thing," Melissa said, her smile broad and filled with mischief.
Sudanie's mouth opened and closed quickly. Melissa locked the door behind them. Because of the case, she couldn't take the chance of having her files compromised in any way. Sudanie stopped at her desk and took up her work bag.
Melissa tucked her hand in Sudanie's arm as walked to the car. "What are you feeling like?" she asked.
"Chinese food," Sudanie replied.
"Done," Melissa said.
Sudanie unlocked the car and they got in.
The Encounter
"It's okay to show him that he makes you crazy. You're a Christian, but it doesn't mean you can't tell him how he makes you feel. You can touch him places too. I mean not there, you know where, but you can stand behind him and hug his waist. When he goes in to hold you, get comfortable. Put your head on his shoulder. Don't be shy." Melissa paused and took a sip of her drink.
Sudanie smiled at her. "I do all those things already. Well, I don't really vocalize all I'm feeling because we're waiting. I don't want to push him over the edge."
She stuffed a fork full of crispy Peking Duck, and fried rice into her mouth and chewed. 'Hmm, so good!' Her eyes rolled in the back of her head.
Melissa looked at her friend with new admiration. "That's good," she responded.
"As for the oral thing. It's about being comfortable with him," Melissa said. "It's best you guys wait until you're married to each other. That way you feel safe with him.
"The first time Jordan and I did it, it was on our wedding night. Believe me, knowing that he was my husband made the experience even more satisfying."
Sudanie sipped her pineapple soda. "You've been with Ryan. Is he... ?"
"What?" Lissa's asked, a curious, but amused look on her face.
"I guess I want to know what sort of lover he is?" Sudanie blushed while staring at her food.
Melissa chuckled a little. "I'm not going to spoil it for you by saying anything."
Sudanie nervously bit into the duck meat. "I-I... I'm sorry I asked. Forgive me."
"You nervous about your first time?" Melissa asked sympathetically.
Sudanie gave a slight nod.
Melissa smiled reassuringly at her. "You'll be fine. Do you love him?"
Sudanie nodded. "Very much," she replied.
"And he loves you?"
Sudanie nodded affirmatively.
"Then you have nothing to worry about. The Bible talks about a man leaving his father and mother, and being joined to his wife to become one. If he loves you, he'll protect you and make sure you're okay."
"I crave him in the craziest ways," Sudanie said. "He makes my body warm all over. But I want to honor God. He wants to do that too. It's hard, but we are doing our best to wait until we say I do. He wants no regrets, and neither do I." She wiped her fingers on the paper napkin before her plate.
Melissa observed her friend's body language and smiled. "I haven't been a Christian for very long, but I get what you're saying," she said.
Sudanie slowed down on her eating. "How did that happen? Your conversion I mean?"
"I think the Lord has been working on me for a while now," Melissa said laughing softly.
"But after all the things I've been through, you know, last year, it caused me to really see myself and all my flaws. Jordan also challenged me. He took the time to explain the gospel to me, and little by little it started making sense... " She looked ahead of her at a point behind Sudanie's head.
Walking in was Dana and Shane. Sudanie looked behind her and saw the happy couple smiling at each other. Dana was in her police uniform, but Shane was in civilian clothing.
She turned back to her friend. Her brow knotted for what she saw move across Lissa's face.
"Lissa? Hey!" Sudanie snapped her fingers in front of Lissa's face.
Melissa blinked and looked at her. "Oh, I'm sorry." She looked at her plate. "Got a little distracted."
They heard footsteps coming towards their table. Melissa looked up to see Dana walking before Shane, heading in their direction. Dana smiled at her and reached down to hug her. Melissa stood up to receive the hug.
Sudanie watched the exchange quietly. After Dana stepped back, she rubbed Melissa's left arm. "Glad to see you. I didn't get to say hi earlier because I was ill." she said.
Melissa nodded. "That's fine. You're here now. Thank you for welcoming me back. Are you feeling better now?"
Dana smiled broadly at her. "Yup, much better." She looked over at Sudanie and playfully slapped her friend's left shoulder.
"What yuh eating?" Dana asked, staring at Sudanie's plate.
"Duck," Sudanie replied.
Dana crinkled her nose mischievously. "That taste good?" she asked.
"Yuh want to taste it?"
"Nah."
Melissa watched the exchange with amusement. She was aware of Shane's quiet, brooding presence to the right of her. She lifted her gaze and looked at him.
He was staring at her with an unreadable expression. She took a couple seconds to look at him, but it was all she needed to notice that he was broader; more muscular, and his stance more confident.
"Good to see you, Lissa," Shane said. His deep voice struck a cord inside her that hadn't been played in a long time. She produced a brittle smile and sat down.
"It's good to see you too, Shane," she said. Her voice sounded foreign to her: high pitched and breathy. A tiny smile graced his lips. Dana leaned into him. He looked at her and his countenance softened.
Melissa observed the shift and felt a pang of disappointment. "Congrats on your engagement," she said quietly.
Dana smiled at her brightly. "Thank you. Hopefully a December wedding."
Sudanie chimed in. "That sounds excellent."
"Hmm," Shane said softly, "anything my baby wants."
Melissa's fingers curled tightly around the fork she had picked up to give her right hand something to do. When she looked up, Shane was looking at her with that same unreadable expression.
She stared back at him and something flickered in his eyes. He blinked and rubbed Dana's back. "I hear you wanted to speak with me?"
Melissa cleared her throat. She smiled though she felt nervous. "I wanted to say congrats on your engagement. I also wanted to apologize for what I said. I was wrong." She looked into his eyes.
"What are you talking about?" he asked, giving her a lopsided smile that did not change the coldness in his eyes.
Melissa looked at Sudanie. Sudanie stood up and said, "The thing you were angry with her for?"
"What's that?" Shane asked, his lips quirking up into a sharp grin. Melissa's hand tightened around the fork.
"I'm sorry... I'm sorry I may have believed you did harm to Mr Z's sister. I know how dear your best friend was to you. But I was wrong to think you would have done anything like that even by accident." She noticed Dana's smile faltering and her grip on Shane's arm getting tighter.
She looked at him again. "I never meant to offend you. I'm sorry."
Shane's expression remained stoic--dispassionate. "Noted," he said, "but an apology is no longer relevant. You already said what you said. And, as I told you months ago, you never really knew me. If you did, you would never jump to that conclusion about me. It's one of those things. Enjoy your lunch ladies." He cast his gaze briefly at Sudie who was unnerved by the level of coldness in it.
Shane placed his arm around Dana's waist to guide her away from the table. Dana looked back at Melissa, then glanced at Sudanie who had a grave look on her face. Sudanie released a pent up breath. She focused her eyes on her friend.
Melissa bent her head and put down her fork. Her fingers hurt from holding the metal cutlery too tight. She got up, but did not look at Sudanie. "I-I'm going to use the restroom," she said. She walked quickly to the bathroom.
Anger gnawed at Sudie's resolve to keep quiet. She looked over at Shane and Dana's table, and caught Shane's eyes trailing Lissa as she moved to the restroom. 'Enough of this!' she thought to herself.
She stood and marched over to them. "Dana, I love you, but I'm going to say something to your fiance you may not like."
Dana looked up at her. "What is this about?" she asked.
Shane touched her arm. "It's okay," he said, turning his head to look at his beloved.
"Get what is off your chest, Constable, but make sure it's nothing you'll regret," Shane said, looking at Sudanie. His dark eyes were giving her a warning.
Sudanie stood with her back straight. "Lissa told me about the fight you guys had. She was the one who called you and warned you about Z saying you killed his sister. Wasn't she?"
Shane nodded. "Yes. What are you getting at?"
Sudanie took a deep breath. "At one point in time she loved you and you loved her."
Dana moved in her chair. Shane's hand reached down to touch her thigh. His hand patted it gently then rested on her.
Sudanie continued: "She fell in love with you. You were the reason she was in danger in the first--"
"How many times do I have to apologize for that?" Shane asked, his voice having an edge to it.
"As many times as you feel like, but it doesn't change the fact that it scarred her. She was wrong to assume that you could have killed Z's sister, but you yourself will admit that back then you were reckless in the things you did to find your friend's murderer." Sudanie crossed her arms.
"You were sleeping with Z's sister," she hissed.
Dana looked at Shane. Shane turned his head slightly to her. He patted her leg. "I'll explain later."
Dana tried to move his hand from her thigh, but Shane tightened his hold. Dana's body went rigid. A muscle ticked at Shane's right jaw.
"Lissa has been trying to get in contact to smooth things over with you, and make amends," Sudanie asserted, oblivious to the trouble she was stirring up.
"But what are you doing? Being petty!" She bent forward and lowered her voice. "She was very loyal to you when you were going through it."
"Loyal?" Shane scoffed.
A passerby looked curiously at their gathering. Dana glared at her. The young woman hurried away.
Shane dropped the pitch of his voice. "Loyal? May I remind you that she slept with your now boyfriend!"
Sudanie straightened and crossed her arms. She looked at Dana. "You told him?"
"Was it supposed to be a secret?" Dana asked flippantly.
Sudanie hissed her teeth and shook her head. "It's my relationship. I decide who I want to know or not know. You promised it would be between us until I was ready."
"Sudz ..." Dana saw the hurt in her friend's eyes and stopped speaking.
Shane made a sound that wasn't quite a laugh. "And I'm the problem? You're with a guy who had no qualms about sleeping with another man's woman, and you're coming at me?"
Sudanie turned her furious gaze on him.
"Oh, okay. So, what are you angry about? The fact that she questioned whether you killed Z's sister, or the fact that she moved on to someone else? Or both?"
"That's not fair!" Shane said through gritted teeth.
"Fair? Look how you just treated her and she was trying to apologize--"
"Sudz." Three pairs of eyes turned to see Melissa behind them. Melissa averted her gaze away from Shane's cold stare. Her eyes darted to Dana who looked angry. She stared at the table.
"I regret everything," Melissa said. "I'm sorry for what I said to you about Z's sister, and I'm sorry for all I did to hurt you. But I'm married now, and you're engaged to be married. I am very happy for you," she said, her voice cracking. She looked at the floor.
"Do you wish to order?" A waiter came up behind them.
Melissa looked awkwardly at her friend. Sudanie took her hand, looked at Shane, and said, "It's time you act like a grown man and forgive, Sarge. Aren't you a Christian?"
Sudanie looked at Melissa. "Come, let's box our food and get out of this place." She pulled Melissa with her.
She had taken two steps when the feeling that she needed to clear something up made her stop and turn around. "And for the record, Ryan only started being with Lissa after she broke up with you," Sudanie said.
"He even told Lissa's dad he couldn't take the bodyguard job because he knew how he felt about her! He only wanted to protect her. That's the kind of man I'm in love with."
Melissa stared at Sudanie in shock. She felt a sudden lump in her throat, stunned by the sight of her best friend standing up to her ex. Especially considering his rank above her.
She didn't know Ryan told Sudie about his initial reluctance to be her bodyguard. She lowered her head, and pinched the skin of her right wrist between the thumb and index finger of her left hand. A feeling of shame washed over her.
Sudanie's eyes landed on Dana who flinched as if physically slapped. Shane blinked, but said nothing further. The restaurant fell into an awkward silence as everyone stared at the unexpected scene before them.
Sudanie turned around and observed Melissa's wrist turning pink. She touched her friend's left hand. "Stop that," she said gently, and smiled at her. "Come, let's go."
She clasped fingers with Lissa's hand and guided her to their table. After sitting down, Sudanie signaled to a waiter who came over with a broad smile on his face.
"Please box the rest of this to go for us. I'll pay for the boxes if there's a charge. My friend will settle the bill for the food." She looked over to Melissa who nodded her agreement.
Melissa smiled at her friend. Her lips curved up automatically, but her heart was beating fast because of the encounter with Shane. She had never seen Sudie so angry. She was grateful.
The waiter nodded and hurried away.
Dana pushed Shane's hand off her thigh. "Why does it piss you off so much?" she asked.
Shane cleared his throat. "I-I don't really want to discuss this right now." He turned to the waiter who had been waiting with pen and notepad in hand, and placed the orders for the two of them.
When the young man walked away Dana looked at him. Her eyes were sharp and focused. "Either you're going to talk to her and air out whatever grouses you have with her, or I'm going to cancel this wedding."
Shane fixed his gaze on her. "What are you talking about?" he asked, eyes dark with anger.
"I'm talking about your obsession with Lissa!" Dana hissed. A few patrons looked their way. She turned her body slightly and lowered her voice.
"She was wrong to have assumed the worst about you. Yes, she was wrong. She apologized, didn't she? And if she hadn't apologized, who the hell cares?
"She was wrong. She left you for someone else. She wasn't loyal, so what? That's over and done! She's moved on, but I'm here. The only woman's opinion of you that should matter so much is me. Besides your mother, it should be me!" Dana's eyes bored into him. She pushed her chair back.
"I love you, Shane, but if my love isn't enough, tell me from now, and don't waste my time."
She rose to her feet and was about to move away from the table, when Shane stood up and grabbed her. He pulled her flush against his body and kissed her. She struggled at first, but as his mouth kissed her into submission, she melted into him.
He cupped her face with both hands. "I love you," he said, his voice rough. "You and only you."
Dana looked up at him, and he saw the hurt in her eyes. A tear rolled down her face. Fear struck his heart with the thought that he could lose her.
"Prove it. Be done with her. Forgive and let her go," she said, her voice unsteady.
"I'm sorry," he said softly. His heart was beating fast.
"Stop saying you're sorry, Shane. Show me!" she pleaded.
Shane pulled her into his embrace and exhaled audibly. "I'll talk to her and settle this. Okay?"
She nodded. He bent his head and kissed her brow. By now, everyone in the restaurant was looking at them and whispering. "Want me to tell them to make the food to go?" he asked. "We can eat in my car."
She nodded.
He brushed the tears from her face. "Okay," he said. "And no talking about canceling the wedding, please. I love you and only you. I'm sorry. I'll make it up to you."
"You better," she said, giving him a tremulous smile.
"I will," he said, staring into her eyes. 'She's such a blessing,' he thought to himself.
"Actually, I have something in mind that you can do to make me feel better," she said, her smile brightening.
Shane looked at his fiance and his heart lifted. 'My little ray of sunshine. I don't want to lose you and I won't.'
"Really? What do you have in mind?" His lips curved into a genuine smile.
Melissa stood up to follow Sudanie to the door, but as she grabbed her bag, she became aware of the atmosphere shift in the room. She looked over at Shane and Dana's table and caught a glimpse of the passionate kiss between the two lover's before they pulled apart. Her grip on her bag tightened. Taking a shaky breath, she turned her head and walked out.
You owe him nothing
"Ugh! The most arrogant, inconsiderate, bullheaded man I have ever met! I respect Sarge, but I don't see what some women see in him!" Sudanie slammed her driver's side door shut. She glanced at Lissa who had their boxed lunches in her lap.
"No offense," Sudanie said, quieting down.
Melissa shrugged her shoulders. "It's fine. Not offended," she replied. She stared ahead of her.
Sudanie saw the pain in her friend's eyes and touched her arm. Melissa looked at her. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry I lost my cool, but he doesn't deserve you being sad over him," Sudanie said.
"I'm glad you got that apology off your chest. Now you don't need to have anything else to do with him. Your conscience is free. You said you were sorry. He decided to act like a jerk. That's on him. Not you." Sudanie squeezed Melissa's arm.
"You got in a relationship with him and nearly lost your life. All the things you've been through, he should be the one apologizing. You may have been wrong to have assumed the worst, but considering the things you endured, it makes sense your mind would jump to that conclusion."
Melissa nodded and smiled weakly. She missed her friendship with Shane. It however seemed things would never be the same between them. Their friendship was dead.
"Yeah, you're right. Thank you for standing up for me in there. I appreciate you," she said.
Sudanie reached over and gave her a brief hug then started the car's engine. They drove off slowly.
"What friends are for, hun. I'm your friend." She knew that her blowing up on Shane may put a strain on her and Dana's friendship, but she'd make it up to her later. Right now, Lissa needed her.
She easily maneuvered her vehicle into the line of traffic heading up Trafalgar Road. "Look, you've said your peace and extended an olive branch. You don't owe him anything. You never did. Time for you to refocus. When is Jordan coming back?"
"This Saturday," Melissa replied.
Sudanie nodded as she glanced at her. She quickly squeezed her friend's shoulder then focused her eyes before her. "Good. Besides your family, he is the only person that really matters."
"And you too," Melissa said smiling. She studied Sudanie for a minute as she drove. "Ryan is blessed to have you. I'm glad it didn't work out between he and I. You're the better woman for him."
Sudanie looked at her, saw the genuineness in her friend's eyes and smiled at her. "Thank you, hun," she said. "That means a lot to me."
"It's the truth," Melissa countered. "Don't hold back from enjoying your relationship. I'm not saying have sex, you're not married yet. I'm saying you don't have to feel guilty about being with him. I'm happy for you."
Sudanie's heart welled up with relief and fresh conviction. As soon as Ryan got back, she would introduce him to her mother and siblings.
She dropped Melissa off inside the entrance of the police station and went to park. Melissa waited for Sudanie at the front door and they walked in together.
Melissa handed her boxed food to Sudanie. "Bon Appetit," she said. "You still have fourteen minutes left of lunch time."
"I'm eating with you. Lead the way," Sudanie said.
Melissa chuckled a little."Okay." she said. A smirk formed on her lips. "About that oral sex thing," she said, dipping her voice low.
She looked around to see if anyone heard her. The officers seated in the general reception area were focused on whatever it was they were doing.
She was feeling in a better mood. Jordan would be home in a couple of days. Time to put the Shane saga to rest. She perked up. Sudanie was saying something.
"... don't need to. Nope. Never mind." She heard Sudanie say.
"Yuh sure? I can--"
"No," Sudanie cut her off.
"I can give pointers," Melisa said, smiling mischievously. She loved seeing her friend squirm a little.
Sudanie rolled her eyes and Melissa laughed out. Two officers looked at them with annoyed expressions. Melissa apologized and walked towards her office. Sudanie matched her pace.
"Let's not go there," Sudanie said, putting a hand on Melissa's shoulder as they walked. "I shouldn't have said anything. I think I prefer finding out for myself."
Melissa did a knowing chuckle. "Okay," she said, raising her left hand. Her right hand held her boxed food. She stopped walking. They were just a few feet away from her office door.
"All I will say is up and down." With the palm of her left hand at a 180 degree angle to the floor, she did a slow, repeated up and down motion, then she did it faster.
Sudanie looked at Melissa with a puzzled expression on her face. Melissa laughed, dropping her hand to her side. She moved off to her office. Sudanie walked beside her.
"You'll figure it out," Melissa said, cheekily.
Sudanie scoffed, but inside her heart stirred. Since the time Ryan fingered and tasted her, she was secretly looking forward to experiencing it with him. She was even open to doing it to him.
Sweet Lips
"Glad I could make your night better," he said, humour in his voice.
"Why didn't I hear from you?" she asked.
"For operational safety. Things are pretty much under control here now, so it's safer to make contact with our families," Ryan said. "I could call you the first week because we just started, but the community got a little heated as we began establishing our dominance here. It's calmer now."
"I'm family?" Sudie asked. The implication of his statement made her feel giddy. She was glad the mission was yielding results, but all she could think about was seeing him again.
"Of course you are, sweetness. You're more than just family. You're my better half," he said.
"If you keep talking like that you're gonna make me throw myself at you," she teased.
Ryan laughed quietly. He looked around him in the darkness. He heard dogs barking in the distance.
The sound of his laugh made Sudie's loins clench. "Rhy, I really miss you," she said. "I thought I could deal with being a part from you, but it's killing me.
"When are you coming back?" she asked.
"It may be one more month before I'm released." he said hesitantly. He knew she didn't want to hear that. When he was first informed he was disappointed, not just for himself, but for her also.
"Rhy?!"
"I know, baby. I'm sorry, but my squad leader has guaranteed that I'll be back after these next 30 days. I promise I will see you soon." A beat. "I still have to go ring shopping, I'm sorry I didn't get around to it, but I wanted to wait until I got back, and free to spend time with you."
Sudanie sucked her teeth. She felt a heaviness squeezing down on her chest. She made little sounds like a fussy toddler.
Ryan sent sloppy kisses over the line to her. "Sweet baby, I'm so sorry. I promise to make it up to you. Okay?"
"Mi nuh wah hear dat. Mi wah hear seh yuh ah come home this weekend," she said pouting.
"I know, baby," Ryan said, softening his tone. "I want to be with you too. But he's confirmed that we'll be out of here soon. Just one more month, baby, and I'll see you. Just a few more weeks and I'll get to hold and caress you. Squeeze your soft, sexy body on mine."
"I miss kissing you," she said. Sadness she had never experienced before settled into her bones.
"I miss your sweet lips too," Ryan said. "Where are you now?"
"I'm home on my bed," she answered.
Ryan's interest peaked. He looked around him at the other tents. Five men were on their phones, probably doing what he was--contacting their loved ones. Four had left the camp to investigate a lead.
He looked at his watch: 10:30 p.m. He and three of the men who remained behind would take the first watch when the others got back. He needed a few reckless minutes with her.
He stood up and walked a distance away from the camp. He ended up sitting in the dark, several feet from the camp lamps, on a boulder. The cool St. Andrew air caressed his face and neck--making him feel relaxed.
"Tell me what you're wearing," he said.
Sudanie giggled. "A big old t-shirt and panties," she said. She turned on her side. She placed the phone on loud speaker and laid it on the bed beside her.
"Sounds sexy. Are you wearing a bra?" he asked. His loins stirred with just the thought of her looking soft and beautiful on his bed.
"Nope, just my panties," she answered, her tone softening.
"Wish I could see you in your tees," he said. "I bet you look cute." He smiled as he listened to her.
"You should one day. It's my favourite t-shirt," she answered, turning on her back. She drew her knees up, and began idly opening and closing her legs.
"Really?" he asked, his voice dipping lower. "Sounds like a definite plan."
He cleared his throat and whispered softly. "What sort of panties are you wearing?"
Sudanie chuckled. "Wouldn't you want to know," she teased.
"I do. Which is why I'm asking nicely." His voice came out soft but gravelly. Sudanie squeezed her thighs together.
"Do you know how sexy you sound right now?" she asked.
He did a little chuckle. "You're telling me. How sexy do I sound?"
"Like make me wet, drop my panties sexy," she said, her breathing accelerating.
Ryan's eyebrows lifted in surprise. "Am I turning you on just by talking to you?"
"Mhm," Sudanie answered, biting her bottom lip. "Yes."
The mood shifted between them into something electrifying, more intimate.
"Do you trust me?" he asked, adjusting himself on the boulder.
"Yeah, I do," she said.
"Would you do something for me if I asked you to?"
"I ..." She thought of how much she loved him. At this point she was weak for him. "Yes, I would. I trust you."
Ryan cleared his throat. "Are you on your back or laying on your side?" he asked.
"On my back," she said, her pulse racing.
"Close your eyes," he said quietly.
In the quiet of his background she heard the faint whisper of his pants' zipper. Her pulse raced. 'What is he doing?'
"Put your hands on your sexy breasts and touch them for me," he said, his voice raspy.
"Touch those beautiful breasts for me, Sudie. Imagine me doing it to you," he said.
'Ooh! I get it!' she thought smiling. She bit her bottom lip. She was up for doing something naughty with him.
She lifted her blouse and touched herself. Heat pooled in her loins and she made a faint, whimpering sound.
"Rhy..." Her voice was filled with longing.
"I know, baby. I know. I won't take long to be with you, I promise. Imagine me kissing your sweet lips. Your lips are so soft. I love kissing them.
"I feel drunk every time I kiss your lips. Kissing you turns me on in the strongest way. Move your hands down and touch that special place between your thighs."
She could hear his ragged breathing. "Rhy, are you...?" She opened her eyes and stared at the phone.
"Hmm? What baby?"
"Are you touching yourself?"
"Yes, baby," he said. His breath hitched as he continued to pleasure himself.
"You're being naughty," she said playfully, even as she caressed her hardened nipples.
He gave a slight chuckle. "You make me feel naughty. You wanna be naughty with me?"
"Mhm, yes," she said with an airy sigh.
"Good. Because I'm thinking about you. Thinking about that sweetness between your thighs. The little taste I got has me craving you, Sue. I don't want to wait long to marry you. I want you."
Sudanie listened to that unique quality in his voice: soft and refined, with just a hint of roughness. She could feel herself getting lost in this moment with him.
"Touching that sweetness for me?"
Sudanie gasped as her fingers circled the tip of her nub. "Rhy!" She had done this before, but not with a companion on the phone. Never with anyone. The sound of his voice made the sensations even more intense.
She spread her legs apart and moaned his name: "Hmm... Ryan!"
Slowly, her fingers teased the tip as she remembered him tasting her on his fingers."Rhy!" She could hear him breathing heavily. Her own breathing was ragged.
"Sue, I'm almost there..." Ryan told her. She could hear his tone shifting to something rougher--breathier. Her loins clenched. She gasped and applied a little more pressure.
Ryan slowed down from massaging his member. He wanted to hear her. He needed to hear her reach her peak.
"I want to wait for you. I want to hear you scream my name," he said. "Sue, think of my lips all over your body. Imagine me kissing you down there. My tongue licking that pretty little thing--tasting your sweet honey. I want you to climax on my tongue."
Sudie's lips parted in surprise as she heard what he said. Sharp tendrils of pleasure rushed through her. Her fingers moved a little faster. She really wanted to feel his lips on her now. She wished he was with her in her room: caressing her, holding her, licking her, making love to her.
"... get your kitty wet. Imagine me penetrating you, taking your virginity; making you mine completely. Gripping you: going in and out, in and out."
His tone was soft and husky. It was filled with a tenderness that made her loins ache with need. Sudanie moaned just from the way he sounded to her ears.
Ryan licked his lips. He imagined being inside her and hearing her moan like this. Her sultry cries of pleasure were very sexy to him. He increased his grip on his member, and massaged it faster as he thought of her on their wedding night.
"I'll go really slow at first, just taking my time to get you used to me. Then when you're really hot and wet, I'll go faster and deeper, and harder until you shatter into a million pieces for me. Say my name, baby."
He groaned her name: "Sue! Pretty lady, I love you. Say it!"
Her fingers moved with greater urgency. "Ryan, I love yoouu," she said, her tone airy--high pitched. "Ohh! Rhy!"
"Just like that baby. Just like that, my sweet girl. Say my name," he growled.
"Ryan! Rhy! Ohh! Ohh!" Her body began to jerk and shiver as he gasped and did a low, deep grunt. She heard him panting afterwards. Her chest rose and fell rapidly.
Her muscles throbbed from the intense pleasure that ripped through her. She put a hand on her chest and tried to breathe, but was making wheezing noises.
After two minutes passed, Ryan blew her a kiss. "You okay?" he asked, his voice shaky--broken.
"No, I want you here," Sudie said, her voice hoarse. She turned on her side and opened her eyes. Curling her hands into fists, she released a sharp breath.
"I know. I wish I was with you too," Ryan said. It occurred to him how hollow he felt without her.
"Baby, you sound really sexy when you cum. I want to hear you like that again and again," he said, his tone rough.
Sudie bit her bottom lip. "You're making down there jump."
Ryan exhaled slowly. "Am I? Hmmm, I guess I'll have to make sure I satisfy you properly after we're married. Make sure she's well fed."
"She?" Sudie's left eyebrow arched above the right.
"The little rose between your thighs," he said softly, a smile on his lips.
Sudie's heart skipped a beat. "I love you, Rhy."
"Love you too, baby."
"Please come back to me. Don't get killed," Sudie said, fear in her voice.
Ryan blew a sloppy kiss. "I won't. Nothing will stop me from being with you after these thirty days." A quiet certainty grew inside him. Whatever happened in the next thirty days would not break him.
"Sue?"
"Hmm?"
"Did you just have your first phone sex?" he asked, trying to lighten the mood. She said she had no experience. He wanted to know if he was her first for everything sexual.
She smiled. "Yeah, I... yes." She was shy about admitting it.
Ryan chuckled softly and blew tender kisses to her. "I love you. I want your first time for a lot of things to be with me." he said, a bittersweet feeling settling in his chest.
'I miss you so much, baby!' he thought.
"You're being naughty again," she teased with a little laugh.
"Only for you, Sue. Only for you," he said. He loved her. He remembered how a month ago he nearly messed up their relationship. He was grateful for her patience with him.
There was movement behind him. His ears perked up to the sound: He heard footsteps coming closer. "Babes, I gotta go, okay?"
"Okay," she said, "be careful, please."
Ryan pressed his phone's power button and the screen lit up. "I will," he said. By the faint glow of the display, he saw a man walking towards him in dark clothing, possibly police gear. "Talk later."
"Later," Sudanie said. Her heart was brimming over with affection.
Ryan ended the call. The heat of the previous moment now temporarily forgotten. The phone's display panel went dark. He fixed his trousers, pocketed the phone and stood to his feet. With his legs slightly apart, he put his right hand on the butt of his gun resting in the holster at his hip.
As the man got closer, Ryan noticed a lit phone screen in his hand. He could make out the distinct lines of tactical police gear. He realized it was one of his colleagues walking towards him.
The man lifted his right hand. The flash of the phone's fading light across the face made it clear who was coming closer. He observed Sergeant Byfield's careful strides towards him.
Ryan took out his mobile device and turned on its torch light. The phone was the only light in their dark surroundings. He was sure his colleague couldn't see what he was doing earlier, but maybe he heard him.
Ryan did not speak. He wanted to hear what Byfield would say. He turned to fully face his colleague and waited.
"You busy?" Byfield asked, coming to a halt three feet away from him. Ryan lifted the phone's light at chest level so he could see Byfield's face.
"Not anymore," Ryan quipped. Of all the men on the team, Byfield was the least likable. Ryan had to admit however, when it came to the mission, he admired his focus.
"We found something. A head, no body yet." Byfield looked at Ryan, his expression like flint.
Ryan nodded. "Understood," he replied. His face was blank of emotion--his shoulders square, back straight.
Byfield turned his back to him and made a phone call. "Yeah, found him. He hadn't gone far. Yes, he is okay." He ended the call and tucked the phone in his pants.
Ryan figured his squad leader had come back with Byfield and the other men who went out, and not seeing him, was concerned for his safety. He wouldn't wander off like that again.
"I suppose you may want to clean yourself up a little," Byfield said, turning to him with a smirk on his face. Ryan's jaw clenched. Byfield chuckled while shaking his head. He walked away, going up the path he came.
After Byfield disappeared into the bushes Ryan turned off the phone's torch. He sucked his teeth. 'So Byfield did hear me.'
He didn't care. Sergeant Byfield was a stickler for protocol, but Ryan knew enough about him to know that the Sergeant would mind his own business.
He took a deep breath and released it slowly. It was a moment of weakness. He missed her. It was either talk to her or go crazy. At least his mind was clearer now.
He had a bottle of water in his pants' left thigh pocket. He unlocked the touch screen so he could see by its dim light, and perched the phone on the large rock beside him. With a sigh, he opened the bottle cap, and poured some water on each hand. Right hand held the bottle to wash the left hand and then the reverse.
He drank the water that was left, and flashed off his hands. While he took out his rag and wiped his hands he thought of her. Her sexy moans were a huge turn on.
"God, help me to hold it. I feel myself slipping. I love her, but these feelings are too strong. I don't want to violate your principles, but she's very tempting. Please, help me," he prayed.
Crushing the empty bottle in his right hand, he sucked in a quick breath. He took up the phone and turned the torch on.
'Just one more month,' he told himself. 'Just a little longer.' He walked quickly back to the camp.
